Who’s Yo Mama?

Who’s Yo Mama?

I still don’t get why the blog title is what it is. Mamamaui, which is used as its URL, definitely embodies the spirit of the blog way better than Who’s Yo Mama.

Visual Aesthetics – 7

I don’t know what it is about blogs like this but even with the gorgeous pictures of Maui the overall look of the blog still doesn’t look that great. The way all the elements are put together just doesn’t work that well.

User Friendliness – 6

Large readable text. This blog has one major problem though. There is no way to go to the previous posts since there’s no link at the bottom of the page to the next page nor is there a previous posts section. The only way to access all previous posts is through the archives. Furthermore the archives are buried somewhere between other features on the left sidebar, which doesn’t really make it easy to look for it. Aside from that you can’t right click on the links and so open them in another tab or window due to the copyright protection the blog uses. Granted it protects the images from the blog getting ripped off but it’s such a nuisance having to go to another page and going back to the blog just to read what ever the link’s all about.

Reading Enjoyment – 8

As interesting as most personal journals are. The nice thing about the author’s posts is that you can garner a lot of interesting tidbits and her pictures of Maui and her favorite beaches are really nice.

Useful Info – 9

Lots of information on about Hawaii or Maui in particular. The author also likes to dish out information she’s read from all over the net. You can read everything from cars to diets in this blog.

Overall Experience – 7

If you want to catch a glimpse of authentic Maui and not the tourist side only then this is a good blog for you to read. It is a personal journal though and like most personal journals it doesn’t really stick to any topic but contains anything and everything that catches the author’s fancy.
