Gearfire is all about being a better student. Personal organization, time management, and the use of tools from a student’s perspective is what you can expect to read about in Gearfire.

Visual Aesthetics – 9
The visual layout of Gearfire is very easy on the eyes. The blog makes use of a 2-column layout and all the elements blend well with each other. The color scheme makes use of neutral colors – white, gray, and black – with a splash of orange, which adds a bit of life. One thing that the blog could use would be more graphics to add to the visual experience.

User Friendliness – 10
Gearfire is very well organized, making it easy for readers to find what they need. The most recent posts and the most popular posts are easily found on the top part of the right column. There is a link to the archives and other relevant pages just below the header. The blogroll and other links are found at the bottom of the page.

Reading Enjoyment – 8
Gearfire has many different bloggers writing for them. As such, the posts vary in content and tone. Though the posts that I was able to read were quite informative, some of them could use a more personalized tone to become more enjoyable to read. More so, some of the posts didn’t make use of very good English grammar and structure. This is essential to enjoyable reading, in my mind.

Useful Info – 10
I am really glad to have come across Gearfire as they provide a lot of useful tips for students. All I can say is that I wish there was Gearfire back in the day.

Overall Experience – 9
Students who spend time online should make it a point to visit Gearfire regularly. Though not all of the posts may be relevant to their specific situations, any student is sure to find something useful for himself at some point.
