An on-line magazine with a lot of personal notes from its editor, disguised as a journal. However, we can also consider their claim to being “a gossip blog about New York media” vaild.
Indeed, Fishbowlny is like an opinionated Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The New York Post, and possibly CNN all rolled into one. From David Letterman to Christiane Amanpour and the maybe-wiretaps, the vibe is positively New York-ish you could almost expect Carrie Bradshaw and company to saunter past.
Visual Aesthetics – 9
If they were going for the “simple yet elegant look“, they definitely score. This blog has a sleek feel about it what with all the gray-black-white tones used which is surprisingly not dead boring. The photos are not overboard and are well-placed throughout the main page and the archives.
User Friendliness – 9
The many links they have are quite easy to go through, so that even the not-so genius won’t be lost. Loading time quite fast considering the layout, design and photos involved.

Funny, insightful, witty, and fair. Very up to date with media gossip covering everything from Coldplay to the Oscar hosting job (breaking news at that!). Maximum reading enjoyment. After all, who doesn’t love gossip…?

Excellent user information. Lots of good links in this blog. Not to mention a healthy list of good advertisements in the main page. A thriving ad space for aspiring writers.

Leaves you smiling even as you walk down the street because you know something mere mortals (a.k.a. anti-computer people) don’t. Great reading!
