Crazy Quilt
Crazy Quilt is the personal blog of Julia Scissor from Mumbai, India. She explains her URL name: “Aldebaran is the 14th brightest star visible in the night sky. The word for the star in the Sanskrit language is my real name which has inspired the blog URL.”

Visual Aesthetics – 10
Crazy Quilt looks excellent – from the custom header, which matches the blog name perfectly, to other visual elements, the blog really makes for a good viewing experience. The blog posts also contain images that add to that experience.

User Friendliness – 7
I didn’t have any problems with the load time but one thing that really takes away from the user experience is the fact that another (blank) tab opens up each time you click on the (+) sign to expand the menu options. Worse, when you click on the links to read previous posts, for example, another tab is opened.

Reading Enjoyment – 10
Julia has a way with words, which makes reading her posts quite enjoyable. She is able to present her ideas and thoughts in such a way that even if you do not know her, you find yourself reading on. She also has a propensity towards humorous posts, which anyone will surely enjoy.

Useful Info – 7
There is not much by way of practical information in the pages of Crazy Quilt but there are insights to be read here.

Overall Experience – 8
Crazy Quilt is worth visiting every now and then. Whether you are in for some light reading or for deeper thoughts, you will find posts to suit your fancy in this blog.

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I find the expandable boxes irritating myself! I have to use them otherwise the sidebar stretches miles long. Can anyone suggest any alternative drop down menus or expandable boxes? I know know enough of java script to tweak the present one.

  2. All the problems in the user friendliness section have been fixed! Thank you for the review.
