The World
The World is the blog of Maverick, a young man in his mid-20s living in Singapore. In it, he wants to share the wonders of the world with his readers.
Visual Aesthetics – 10
The World makes use of a dark template which blends well with the text and picture colors. There are a lot of photos within the posts, contributing to an excellent visual experience.
User Friendliness – 6
The first thing that I noticed when I visited the blog was that a pop-up was blocked by my browser. The curious person in me clicked on “show pop-up” and immediately regretted it – my Firefox crashed! Aside from this point, the right column, which contains the elements that help the reader navigate the blog, is a bit confusing. A little weeding would do some good.
Reading Enjoyment – 10
I really liked reading through the blog posts as they were very informative. Though there are only a few posts to choose from as of now, I can already see the potential of this blog as to its content.
Useful Info – 10
Technically, there isn’t much practical information contained within the blog. However, its purpose is to provide information that, while it cannot be used in daily life, is meant to offer general knowledge. In that respect, the blog scores perfectly.
Overall Experience – 8
The World is very good for informative reading about a varied host of topics. If not for the user friendliness issue, the experience would have been perfect.
