Mushy’s Moochings

This self-proclaimed sixties kind of guy knows how to enjoy life and write about it.

Visual Aesthetics – 10

Very simple yet cool look. One look at the header and you get a feel of the author’s personality, of which he has a lot. The images are great, font styles and the contrast between them are great, and the green color scheme very subtle and not overdone. A very effective and pleasing look all over.

User Friendliness – 7

Readable posts and easy to navigate. However once you get to the static links you can’t access the Archives and have to go back to the hompage, which you can’t access except by clicking on the back button. No categories either to help you find posts that interest you by topic.

Reading Enjoyment – 9

In keeping with the Christmas season his latest posts have been mostly about Christmas, even then he doesn’t get repetitive but manages to bring something fresh in every post. He tends to write long posts but since they are very well written they are not boring at all. Even before I realized that this guy was a writer it was already obvious he can write stuff that people can enjoy. This is a lot more than you can say for most bloggers.

Useful Info – 7

Mostly enjoyable reads but not much useful information. This blog gets plus points for the “Recently Missing Children” link which yields one of the most important and useful information everyone in the US should pay attention to.

Overall Experience – 8

Mushy’s Moochings is a very enjoyable blog to read. However it can do better in terms of navigability. Notwithstanding I’d choose to visit this blog over one that look really souped up but is empty of real thought and ideas anyday. A good well-written blog with plenty of personality and sense of humor.
