Mokuren Dojo
“Aikido and Judo in Southwest Mississippi; martial arts for reliable, automatic self defense” is the tag line of this blog. In these uncertain times, I don’t know anyone who would not be interested in learning how to defend one’s self effectively. Patrick Parker is the man behind Mokuren Dojo.
Visual Aesthetics – 9
I like the shades used in the blog – brownish hues. They give off a sense of strength and stability that I would normally associate with something like martial arts. There are also some other visuals that help enhance the blog posts – pictures and videos. However, some of the posts are just too long. Maybe a little editing would help.
User Friendliness – 8
Everything would have been fine except for the fact that I had to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page – and believe me, it’s a long way – in order to find the links to the archives and the about page. A little rearranging for the benefit of the reader would help a lot.
Reading Enjoyment – 8
Patrick writes reasonably well and is able to catch and maintain the attention of his readers with his writing. The posts are quite specific to martial arts and its techniques so non-aficionados may not find too much enjoyment here.
Useful Info – 10
Very very useful information. I don’t know much about martial arts but Mokuren Dojo certainly knows what it is all about.
Overall Experience – 9
I’d say that Mokuren Dojo has a very specific niche and for people who are looking for a blog on martial arts, this one is certainly a winner.
