Macdonald’s Animal Farm

From George Bush and Anna Nicole Smith’s possible Texan affiliation (and a relatively significant discussion of her breast) to Osama Bin Laden and his band of Al Qaeda terrorists, this writer has commentaries on any notable US political issue. Satirical and straight to the point, Macdonald will surely send his subjects of critique a-screaming.

He calls his blog a “political cartoon commentary, where the world is viewed in black and white”. And that is exactly what it is.

Visual Aesthetics – 8

Black, white, and the orange shade used for titles are the only colours in the site. Yet the cartoons are intriguing enough to be visually appetizing. The layout is simple- cartoons are accompanied by snippets of commentary giving the feel of reading a daily broadsheet.

User Friendliness – 8

Loads quickly enough to view three, four, or even five cartoon links in an entry.

Reading Enjoyment – 9

Reading about US politics has never been funnier! This guy puts the laughs in all those political what-have-you’s. Even more hilarious are his cartoons, which don’t even need explanations to be understood.

Useful Info – 9

Macdonald provides a link to every issue he tackles (or criticizes is more like it!). His sites of interest include various online newspapers as well as the legal stuff he mentions in his entries like The Constitution Of The United States or The Bill Of Rights.

Overall Experience – 9

Educational and entertaining. Even those apathetic to politics would find this site interesting. Macdonald’s Animal Farm has definitely found a creative way of tackling (and criticizing!) US politics. Definitely a site to be bookmarked.
