Founded in 2003 by Duncan Riley, The Blog Herald has become a portal for all news about blogs and blogging. In February of this year it was acquired by BlogMedia, Inc. The Blog Herald indeed deserves to be called so as you can find all sorts of fresh relevant information related to blogging.
Visual Aesthetics – 9
The first thing that will enter your mind is “newspaper.” The front page consists of three columns, the first of which is where you would find the blog entries. Additional information can be found in the second and third columns. A picture on the second column adds a bit of life to the page which may otherwise be plain, which is full of texts and links. The stark contrast between the white background and the text makes it easier for visitors to read.
User Friendliness – 9
The blog is easy to use and navigate with all the pertinent links available in the different columns, all categorized appropriately. Important news, though not that fresh anymore is still made easily available in the second column.
Reading Enjoyment – 8
The Blog Herald is for those who are into what’s going on in the blogosphere. Many posts are very information but there are some links to news items that are particular to the BlogMedia blog network and might not appeal to many readers out there.
Useful Info – 9
Bloggers will enjoy up-to-date happenings and press releases as presented in this blog. Pertinent issues such as the IE-7 release are covered by this blog.
Overall Experience – 9
The Blog Herald is one well-thought out blog. With contributions from several people, the information contained is varied and covers a wide array of interests. Though some topics may be too specific for the average reader, there is still a lot to be gleaned from the blog. This is a must-visit blog if you want to be in the know.
