A Frugal Living Blog by A Frugal Guy

The title says it all. If you want to learn about some money saving ideas this is the blog to read. You won’t get the usual canned saving advice here because the author only writes advice that he has actually benefited from.

Visual Aesthetics – 8

The blog makes use of a basic Blogger template without any fripperies. The template is one of the better ones though so that the blog looks neat and organized and has a good color scheme. Some images would help the blog look a bit livelier and more appealing.

User Friendliness – 7

The positive: Simple. Organized. Easy to navigate. Very readable. Fast loading time. The negative: No categories. No link to previous posts at the bottom of the home page. Infrequent and irregular posting.

Reading Enjoyment – 8

The entries tend to be a bit too long. The writing is clear and very relaxed making his advice more like short stories (which they are too) and definitely not stiff. Those who care to save some money will find the content very interesting although some might think that some tips are just too much. His posts would be a bit more enjoyable though if he accompanied it with pics some stuff like the big pork shoulder that won’t fit in his crock pot or windows dressed up in plastic during winter.

User Info – 10

Lots of useful info here for penny pinchers. You will find that frugal living doesn’t always mean living without but living creatively. From cheap meals to reusing plastic bags instead of garbage bags, you will definitely find something you can apply to lessen you expenses and stretch your already over-stretched budget.

Overall Experience – 8

Really good advice in this blog. Down to earth and straight to the point many people will do better by listening to some things this Frugal Guy has to say. I might not always go for all his advice (I don’t want to keep lots of frozen meat in my freezer just to save on money. I like meat fresh.) but there are lots of them you and I can really use. Do read the back posts and get even more good ideas.
