First Ourselves
Being a wife and a mother is probably one of the toughest jobs in the world. Karly recognizes this fact and came up with her blog, First Ourselves, that is “devoted to encouraging and inspiring women and mothers. What does “First Ourselves” mean? You heal yourself, first, so that you can be the wife, mother, friend, daughter—woman—that you wish to be.”
Visual Aesthetics – 7
The predominant color scheme is blue, with various shades of it. It would have been perfect had the outer background not been reddish-maroon. The colors just don’t blend. The main column where the entries are located seems a bit too narrow for me. Considering the outer columns are just used as background, the main column could be wider. Another good addition would be relevant pictures.
User Friendliness – 9
Despite the slight glitch in the layout, which requires the reader to scroll down a lot, First Ourselves is pretty organized. The links are all found in the outer columns, making it easy to navigate the blog. The pages also load up very quickly. Karly also makes it easy for her readers to find additional information by including some links in the entries.
Reading Enjoyment – 10
I must say, despite the seriousness of the topic, I really enjoyed reading through Karly’s posts. Women from all walks of life will definitely be able to relate to this blog. I also think that men would benefit from reading Karly’s insights.
Useful Info – 10
Women who feel that there could be something more in their lives would find a ton of useful insights in First Ourselves. In fact, as I was reading through the entries, I had several realizations that I have never thought of before. Definitely a mind-opening experience!

Aside from the visual aspect, First Ourselves is a very good blog. I highly recommend First Ourselves – I am even saving it in my bookmarks for future visits!
