Fire in the Gut

Passionate. Meant to be a vent for the author’s various passion this blog gives us insight to what puts Chris Lagman on fire. This is a blog is a reflects a man of substance who knows how to love his country and live for his ideals.

Visual Aesthetics – 10

Very simple and very refreshing look. The layout is definitely not conventional and the color scheme is so simple (white and gray). Even though the color scheme is so simple it doesn’t look drab and instead looks professional.

User Friendliness – 9

The unconventional layout is surprisingly effective making it very easy to find older interesting posts. The only problem is that the link to the homepage, which is the blog title on the upper left corner of the pages, is not easily identifiable as a link unless you hover your mouse over it. It would also be a good idea if the author indicates the title of the posts to which the recent comments belong to give visitors and idea of the topics being talked about.

Reading Enjoyment – 10

Topics of substance plus very good writing skills makes for wonderful reading. Non-Filipinos might not relate to some posts though the sentiments for ones love for his own country can be echoed by people of any citizen and race. Fire in the Gut’s photo gallery has really great photos too and is definitely worth a visit.

User Info – 9

The things you will read in this blog are not meant to inform as this is a personal blog. However, the Culture and Literature section as well as the Travel section has some gems to offer if you want to find out some good shows to watch, books to read, and of course places in the Philippines to visit.

Overall Experience – 10

An excellent blog. Colorful not because of its design but in what it contains. A lot of bloggers try to sound intellectual and deep but this blog is one of the rare ones that truly is.
