Camelous

Camille (known as Camelous) is a young Lebanese guy basically filling out his interests in this Multiply.com template. Aside from his journal which reads like a newspaper clipping i.e. “Syrian Critic Killed by Beirut Car Bomb“, the site also has some tools which I’m sure would excite any teenager (free clocks, polls, etc) as well as a ho-hum collection of postcard-esque photos of Lebanon, sexy girls and generic Christmas scenes. Perhaps the most interesting bit was the video of “Stinky Man“, who looked like he could add a little kick to this dreary site. Unfortunately, I had lost my interest by this time and couldn’t be bothered to download the clip.

Visual Aesthetics – 4

BLAH. Too many empty spaces, annoying banners, poll boxes, and you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find some of the more interesting stuff, which sadly is just about as fun as the blank spaces at the top.

User Friendliness – 4

Same complaints as above. When I first came to this page, I had to check it was a blog, because it looked like those nondescript directory pages, the kinds which never have anything and you just cant wait to get out of.

Reading Enjoyment – 4

It would have been interesting to read about the goings on in the life of a young Lebanese boy, especially with the current events as we know – but sadly, there just isn’t anything here that is fresh or remotely interesting.

User Info – 4

Ok, the news clip bits, but couldn’t I have read about that at the BBC?

Overall Experience – 4

Camelous, or Camille, looks like a very sweet boy who would make any mother proud (the photo in the profile just makes me want to pinch his cheeks!), but this site is like a watered down Friendster page at best.
