I thought the blog had something to do with dream interpretation based on some ancient Chinese practice. Was I way of mark. The China Dream Blog represents a group of people’s dream for a better China. Their dream is to be able to travel in every province in mainland China this year and chronicle the lives of people they meet and somehow help them through the use of the internet.
Visual Aesthetics – 8
A very simple blog with an interesting header. The text is a bit long and images are comparatively few. The blog is neat though, which is always good.
User Friendliness – 8
Positives: Fast loading time. Readable text. Distinct links. Very informative posts. Simple and neat sidebar. Negatives: Too many tags/labels at the end of most posts. Too long entries.
Reading Enjoyment – 7
The content is always substantial and contains a lot of interesting information. However, the entries tend to be too long to be enjoyable. I found myself skimming the long ones and skipping parts. Considering the topic, I think the posts can be written in a more engaging manner.
Useful Info – 10
Plenty of interesting information about China and its people. The information are not always useful for the reader in a sense that it will benefit you but useful in terms of educating you about certain (simple daily life) truths in China that might end up being useful to thos eyou read about, if it spurs you to help them.
Overall Experience – 8
A blog with a purpose. A blog whose dream is something we want to become a reality. This is a blog you might not feel like following religiously but dropping in once a month might be a good idea to check on their progress and see if there’s anything you can do to help.
