Despite being a Hollywood blog it doesn’t share Hollywood’s flashy glitzy look. It uses a very subdued background color that makes the white text stand out and very easy to read. I like the simple look of it but maybe it can use a little more oomph.
User Friendliness – 9
A very simple page that’s easy to navigate. The categories are well thought out and are really useful for finding relevant posts. The archives plus the calendar also makes it easy to dig into older posts without having to go through too much links. it is also very easy to subcribe via RSS and gives the option of subscribing to the posts only or to the comments as well. I guess the only thing missing with this blog is a back to top link.
Reading Enjoyment – 9
Its really funny but I actually caught myself reading back posts all the way to two pages back. I’m not really into Hollywood news but I did enjoy this blog. The concise yet informative way the author presents each news bit must have had something to do with it.
Useful Info – 6
Unless you count the details about the lives of Hollywood stars as useful then there isn’t anything really useful in the blog. Unless of course you join one of those quiz shows where Hollywood Stars trivia come out as a category.
Overall Experience – 8
The Hollywood Blog is as entertaining as Hollywood can be. It also manages to be pretty dignified and comes out more as a Hollywood news site than a simple gossip site due to the newsy and professional way the author writes. If you love getting on with the latest about Hollywood stars this is a good blog to subscribe to.
