Treovr
Treovr is the blog of Trevor, who seems to have a knack for putting together some interesting and unique content from all sorts of places. It’s still a new blog, but you will find something to marvel at.

Visual Aesthetics – 7
The images included in the blog posts are something else! They will really catch your eye and hold your attention. I think that more work can be done with the rest of the blog, though. There seems to be too much white space, the arrangement of buttons are not very appealing, and the overall visual experience can use a little tweaking.

User Friendliness – 8
Treovr loads up pretty quickly, despite the amount of images contained in its pages. I don’t know if this will remain the same if more content is added, though. The archives are grouped according to general categories – they could be more specific for easier navigation. This will come in handy when more content is added.

Reading Enjoyment – 8
Readers will definitely find Treovr a joy to read – or look at. The images are not your run-of-the-mill content you can find everywhere. Still, it would be good to have some text to accompany the images.

Useful Info – 8
There isn’t much “practical” info in the pages of Treovr, but if all you need is to find unique stuff about art, science, and music – this is a pretty good blog to visit.

Overall Experience - 8
Treovr is still a “baby” and with a few tweaks here and there, this blog can go a long way. If I were you, I’d keep my eyes on this one.

Decompose
Decompose is the blog of Mike Duran, an ordained minister, a writer, and a record holder for the most number of consecutive 3-point shots made in his front yard. His blog is a creative outlet for himself and a venue for others to discover insights about life in general. He describes it best as his “attempt to discern, interpret, challenge, poke fun at, and ultimately enjoy the world we live in.”

Visual Aesthetics – 10
Decompose scores strongly on this point as its individual visual elements come together to create an excellent experience for the reader. I am very much impressed with the header, which is a collage of various people and items that the blog talks about. I think that it really captures the essence of the blog. The posts themselves also contain enough relevant images to break up the long blocks of text.

User Friendliness – 10
Navigating Decompose is a breeze. Links to relevant sections are easily found right below the header. The right column also contains additional links that the reader will find useful – archives, top posts, recent posts, categories, blog roll, and the like. More so, the pages loaded up very quickly.

Reading Enjoyment – 10
I have never been one to enjoy heavy philosophical discussion but I found myself reading through the posts in Decompose. Mike Duran has a way with words that makes complicated ideas easy enough to understand and digest. The topics are very relevant to the modern day Christian who faces various issues in his daily life.

Useful Info – 10
Sometimes I think that written works of philosophy and religion have little practical value. Decompose proves me wrong. This blog is full of philosophical and religious discussion but there is a lot of practical information that one can apply in his daily life.

Overall Experience - 10
Decompose is an excellent blog if you want to stimulate your brain. I have to say that it is not light reading but you will not regret frequenting it as you walk away knowing something more.

Pharma Watch Dog
Pharma Watch Dog is an informational blog tackling various issues in the pharmaceutical world. The author is Mark Sadaka, a “trial lawyer and former scientist who has dedicated his career to defending the public from the onslaught of poorly designed products, consumer fraud and other unethical business practices.”

Visual Aesthetics – 9
The main page of Pharma Watch Dog is very appealing and has that newsy look to it – a perfectly balanced theme with regard to the content. The only thing I could wish for is more visual effects within the blog entries themselves.

User Friendliness – 10
Pharma Watch Dog is very well organized, with links to recent posts and other categories in the blog. Despite the huge amount of information available, you will not get lost in this blog.

Reading Enjoyment – 9
I don’t know if there is much that one can do to spin topics about the pharmaceutical into something “fun” but the blog posts are well-written.

Useful Info – 10
For the target audience, Pharma Watch Dog has a lot of information to offer.

Overall Experience - 9
For someone’s first fully functional blog, Mark is doing well with Pharma Watch Dog.

Quantum Fog

Did you know that there are 30,000 to 300,000 species of fungi that exists? And did you know that there are actually roughly 170 planets found outside our solar system but only 150 have been identified?

Reading Quantum Fog in one sitting would make you such an expert on factoids, you’d be able to beat that kid in Jerry Maguire with all the “Did you know’s” that you’ll be able to spew. Witty and informative, you wouldn’t think that the author is actually a father to a fourteen-year old who has problems getting up in the morning.

Visual Aesthetics – 5

I’d have to commend him on the effort to put those little pictures beside each blog entry title, but the layout of the entire site is too scattered, you wouldn’t know where to read or to click on first. Adding to the text’s left-justified format, there are sidelinks both on the left and right portions making everything look even more confusing. At the end of each entry are advertisements without so much as boxes or partitions that would identify them from the entry it follows.

User Friendliness – 8

No problems here. Loaded fairly quickly, and the design/navigation combo was simple enough.

Reading Enjoyment – 7

It’s an easy enough read with short and concise entries. The author has a knack for putting witty twists at the end of each that would prod the reader to say, “Hey, I didn’t know that.” Words used were simple and even in explaining complex stuff, the author preferred to write like he was just talking to a comrade.

User Info – 8

It’s like reading a compressed encyclopedia or going to ebay. The author talks about a variety of things – from pop items to the social issues to the everyday trivial stuff. All followed by interesting factoids that could prove to be conversation starters in the future.

Overall Experience – 7

It was an enjoyable read. Once you start reading Quantum Fog, it’s hard to stop because you never know what you might find out in the end.

Dr Fong’s Blog of Mysteries

A keen observation on the dinosaur’s barbaric method of reproduction, a final statement in his part about the entire reptile-humanoids controversy, and a discovery of books bound in human skin are just a few of the interesting reads in this site.

Like a journal, it shares the humor, observation and angst of an individual. In this case though, the experiences of a Sci-fi movie writer.

Visual Aesthetics – 8

Safe with the white on black choice. The materials are easily readable and the font isn?t too big or too small. Nothing great about the design or the layout but good enough. Interesting photos, though.

User Friendliness – 10

No problems at all. Loads really fast and the layout is simply the scroll up and scroll down type.

Reading Enjoyment – 10

Sarcastic humor maximized. Seemingly normal entries end with a punch and kick. If you love conspiracy theories, this site’s a keeper.

User Info – 5

What user info? Sorry, you dialed the wrong number. However, one can argue that a blog site should not be an info page. If you’re after info, just Ask Jeeves.

Overall Experience – 9

After reading, you’ll find yourself in knee-high black boots, with a magnifying glass on your left hand and a little black book on your right with the words “unlocking the world’s mysteries” in swirly, gold letters. The whole conspiracy theory thing makes for an interesting read, to say the least.
